FUHS CLASS OF 1953's 50th REUNION BANQUET
|
The 50th reunion banquet was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Brea. There were about 85 classmates who attended (140 or so with their guests included). A memory book will be mailed to those attending that will contain professional pictures of the classmates and their significant others and addresses and e-mail addresses for those who agreed to have them printed. Unforgettable Reunions handled the arrangements. They said that this was the first reunion they had ever had where there were no "No Shows". (We even had 3 "Walk-Ins".) An envelope containing responses to the questionairres that were mailed out to the classmates, a memorial page (with too many faces), and pages with information about web sites of importance to FUHS and to our class in particular and information about the yearly all-class Pow Wow luncheon was given to each classmate at the sign-in table. Some people left these behind and lost a valuable resource. I will be happy to make copies of mine for those who would like one, but it's going to cost you some bucks (There are about 20 pages, but I don't know the cost of the postage for an over-sized envelope. I think $5 should cover it, but I am continually surprised at the prices these days. E-mail me at CVanHorn@pacbell.net)

These first pictures were taken by my son Peter Stafford Van Horn with a digital camera so we could get something uploaded quickly. Hopefully, there will be lots of other pictures given to me and to Earl Gibson (the web master for the class) that will be available to see later. I am going to put these first pictures in alphabetical order by last names. Look for the ladies under thier maiden names. There are some people he didn't get and I am hoping that pictures of these people especially will be sent to me. There are too many pictures of me as a lot of people wanted me to suffer along with them. Ignore that side of the picture and try not to be amazed at the variety of bad expressions one lady can get on her face. The pictures will take a while to load as I like big pictures that I can see, so multi-task- go wash a dish or mow a lawn while the pictures are loading. |
A video was made and all classmates on my database will be receiving information on how to get one. I made a real effort to get people to do individual interviews so that the classmates who couldn't attend might have an opportunity to see their friends. |

I am going to under-line the maiden names so you will remember to look for the girls under their maiden name. |
Dick Foster opened the unearthed time capsule that our class had buried at the time of graduation. It contained a scroll with our names. He asked for suggestions for what to put in it before it was re-buried so he wouldn't get the complaints when we dig it up again at the 100th reunion. |

My son Peter didn't leave the King Tut statue empty-handed. He is now in the class of 1953 (BC). (We will probably be hearing about the rowdy senior citizens from the class of '53.) |
